it started as a lie. an attention plea. you know, one of those things. where you say something without conclusive proof and everyone takes your word for it because you're a good kid. everyone knows you're a good kid. right? the lie grew and grew and grew and so did the thought in my head. maybe it was real. i could almost see the lines, the scars. you believed me. i knew you would. you accepted anything i said, never questioning. you didn't know that i was a [liar] or was i? i thought it was funny because i never loved you. or at least, i never planned to. i loved him [but that's another story].. or so i thought. poor little rich girl barefoot running around in skin too big for her bones. laminated eyeballs and a cubic zirconium smile not quite genuine. she's a messy pile of metaphors and clichés, although she doesn't feel like an elephant as opposed to a hippopotamus sugar and [spice] and everything nice [it's a synthetic drug, she replies. legal.] sometimes she wants to be sylvia plath because she just wants to bake in the oven. she doesn't know how to smoke, but she's learning.
